Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Hemel Hempstead. In this role you will assist clinical staff with routine procedures, patient assessments, and daily treatment room activity.

You will be part of an organised primary care environment, helping manage patient flow, perform clinical observations, and contribute to high-quality care delivery. DBS check is required and sessions can be ad hoc or regular long-term bookings.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
