Are you an experienced Healthcare Assistant seeking flexible work within the West Essex area?

We are currently recruiting for Healthcare Assistants to join our bank pool to cover bank shifts at 4 of our wards in West Essex. Please note this is not for the wider organisation at this time.

These wards are based at St Margaret's Hospital, Epping, CM16 6TN – Poplar, Plane, Beech and Avocet Ward.

The successful applicant will be a keen and enthusiastic person, ideally with experience working in the caring profession. We are looking for someone who is motivated and able to work within a team as well as independently. As part of this role you will be required to be willing to develop your knowledge and skills through a variety of training.

Responsibilities
  • Undertaking assigned tasks that involve direct patient care in the mental health community settings.
  • Act in a manner that protects and maintains the patient’s sense of dignity, personal relationships and social contact, while respecting the individual’s religious beliefs and cultural practices.
  • Lifting and moving of patients when required – in line with the Trust’s manual handling policy.
  • Taking and recording of blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respiration.
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining the health and safety of patients.

If your application is successful at shortlisting stage you will be required to come and meet with us for a face to face interview at Thurrock Hospital, Grays, Essex. Please note we will not be offering virtual interviews for this role.

Interviews will be held on Thursday 18th December 2025.
