Job summary

Elysium Healthcare is seeking Bank Healthcare Assistants to join Cefn Carnau in a flexible, zero-hour role. After a paid two-week induction, you will access shifts across Cefn Carnau with the potential to work regionally within Elysium services.

Shifts include weekdays, nights and weekends, booked via an app. The role offers an uplift to cover annual leave and access to meals on duty and parking, with supportive training and wellbeing resources throughout your employment.

Are you an expe rienced Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker wanting control and flexibility to work the shifts you want?

Whether you’re looking for extra shifts to boost your income or a flexible job that fits around your lifestyle, if you’re an experienced Healthcare Assistant in the UK you can join our staff bank and, after completing a paid two-week induction, you’ll have access to available shifts at Cefn Carnau inCaerphilly, plus the potential future option to work bank shifts regionally at other Elysium services across the region.

There is no minimum number of hours that you need to work, although it is recommended to work as often as you can to ensure your induction knowledge and familiarity with the service is retained.

Weekdays, nights and weekend shifts are regularly available, which are easy to view and book through an app. Within a few taps you’ll have the shifts at Cefn Carnau secured that you want.

Whether your nursing experience is from the NHS or private sector, you can join the team as a Bank Healthcare Assistant with an hourly rate that includes a 12.07% uplift to cover annual leave, plus have access to a range of benefits including free meals on duty, free parking and more.

What you will be doing

You will join the team that works well together to provide care for people with Learning Diabilities. Whether you are currently a Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker or Care Worker, you will utilise your experience to support people to lead a valued and fulfilled life.

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve; being able to do something today that they couldn’t do last week because of you.

The service operates 24/7 with 12.5 hour standard shifts. As a Healthcare Assistant on our bank you’ll be on a zero hour contract, giving you the freedom to choose which shifts you want to work each week.

Where you will be working

You will be working at Cefn Carnau; a low secure/rehabilitation service for adults with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability who may also present with mental illness, personality disorders and an autistic spectrum condition.

The programmes provided at the service, include a sex offender treatment programme, anger management, trauma therapy, art psychotherapy together with bespoke psychological sessions aimed at people with learning disabilities.
