The Trust requires clerical staff to join our bank to provide support in various departments around the hospital. Our ‘bank’ operates like an internal agency, booking temporary staff on a flexible basis.

Key Responsibilities

Professional responsibilities

  • Bank administrative posts are varied – you may undertake a combination of the following:
  • To input and retrieve patient information on PIMS or relevant in house computer system.
  • To deal with patients in person and on the telephone in a polite and courteous manner.
  • To adhere to confidentiality and data protection policies.
  • To deal with enquires by General Practitioners and other external stakeholders.
  • To liaise in person and by phone or email with all levels of medical, clerical and nursing staff and to build good working relationships across these.
  • The making and sending of patient appointments and to deal with all requests for alteration and cancellation of appointments.
  • To ensure that letters received are filed correctly and that filing is kept up to date and stored in accordance with data protection policy.
  • General administrative duties as required including opening and distributing of post and collection of files from wards/departments.

Communication

  • To communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team throughout the units/wards and Trust.
  • To maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • To liaise and communicate effectively with patients and relatives referring them to the nurses regarding their care, treatment and discharge process.
  • To adhere to the Trust Social Media policy.
