Overview

Are you the candidate we are looking for? At Shaftesbury Thrive we are recruiting for Bank Enabling Support Workers. A full UK driving license is essential. This role does not qualify for visa sponsorship as the Home Office salary requirements are not satisfied. We are looking for people with the passion, talent, skills and experience that all add up to a caring and community-minded workforce. Shift patterns: Weekday afternoons from 3pm onwards, evenings and full days on weekends. Please note, this role is part time only; full time hours are not available. The service is currently providing community based short break support for children with disabilities. We’re looking for enthusiastic support workers to join our growing team. You will work with our Service Delivery Lead and Team Leader to support children and young people living in family homes with their parents/carers. Support can include:

Responsibilities
  • Helping with daily routines e.g. meal times, personal care, bed times.
  • Community access e.g. going to the cinema, youth clubs, sports clubs, swimming, to the park, to the beach etc.
  • Helping parents/carers with household tasks e.g. preparing meals, laundry, general cleaning.
  • Planning activities and games with children e.g. arts and crafts, reading, board games.
  • Support to learn new skills and increase independence e.g. support young people to learn how to use the bus, plan shopping trips, manage money.
Who we’re looking for

Have you got experience of working with children with disabilities or special educational needs? Have you worked as a support worker, childcare worker or teaching assistant? If yes, you could be the person we’re looking for!
