Job summary

Lakefield Neurological Centre in Lambourne Road, Chigwell, is seeking experienced drivers to join its staff bank for flexible shifts. After a paid two-week induction, you will access driving and on-site escorting shifts across the centre and surrounding locations.

There is no minimum hour commitment, but higher hours help maintain induction familiarity. A generous hourly uplift covers annual leave, with free meals, parking, and other benefits on offer.

Responsibilities

• Drive patients and staff to various locations, ensuring safe and timely journeys using efficient routes
• Transport staff and visitors to/from the unit as required by the Line Manager; collect and deliver consumables or assets
• Ensure hospital vehicles are cleaned, maintained and faults addressed promptly
• Keep vehicles fuelled and maintain up-to-date records for audits and requests

Whether you’re looking for extra shifts to boost your income or a flexible job that fits around your lifestyle, if you’re an experienced Driver you can join our staff bank and after completing a paid two-week induction, you’ll have access to available Driving and on‑site escorting shifts at Lakefield Neurological Centre.

There is no minimum number of hours you’re required to work, though it is recommended to work as often as you can to ensure your induction knowledge and familiarity with the service is retained.

Whether your experience is from the NHS or private sector, you can join the maintenance team with an hourly rate that includes a 12.07% uplift to cover annual leave, plus have access to a range of benefits including free meals on duty, free parking and much more.

As a Bank Driver You Will Be

• Driving patients and staff to a variety of different locations, ensuring that the journey is completed in a safe and timely manner, using the most efficient route.
• Driving staff and other visitors to/from the unit as required by the Line Manager. Collect and delivers consumables or assets for the Unit during periods of the day when not involved in other activities.
• Ensuring that the Hospital vehicles are cleaned regularly, maintained correctly and safely and that any damage or faults are dealt with immediately.
• Ensuring that vehicles are fuelled at all times and record‑keeping is kept up to date and available when requested

Where You Will Be Working

Lakefield’s Neurological Centre, Lambourne Road, Chigwell, IG7 6HH

Lakefields Neurological Centre will be a 22‑bed service that delivers specialist 24‑hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long‑term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise their functional ability and improve their quality of life. The Centre specialises in neuro‑rehabilitation, tracheostomy and ventilator care.

Bedrooms are adapted to individual requirements, fitted with high dependency equipment including ceiling track hoists, wall mounted suction and oxygen equipment. There are also well‑equipped therapy facilities, spacious lounge areas and wheelchair access to beautiful gardens.
