Location: Linby - 36.5 annual leave days

Hours: Flexible shifts between 7:30 and 18:30, including weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays

About Sherwood House

Sherwood House is a registered care home providing 24/7 person‑centred care to 19 elderly residents. Nestled in the award‑winning village of Linby, just outside Hucknall, it offers a tranquil environment surrounded by greenery and local charm.

Your Role as a Bank Cook

As our Cook, you’ll lead the day‑to‑day catering operations, ensuring residents enjoy nutritious, delicious meals tailored to their preferences and dietary needs.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Planning and preparing meals that meet residents’ nutritional needs.
  • Maintaining food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Managing stock, food orders, and kitchen equipment.
  • Supporting kitchen assistants and volunteers.
  • Cooking for special occasions and cultural celebrations.
What We’re Looking For
  • Have experience in hospitality or catering.
  • Can prepare meals for large groups.
  • Are organised, reliable, and customer‑focused.
  • Understand the importance of nutrition for older adults.
  • Can work flexibly and maintain high hygiene standards.
Getting to Linby

Due to limited public transport, a driving licence and access to a vehicle are highly desirable. Sherwood House is a 7‑minute drive from Hucknall High Street or a 20‑minute walk from the nearest bus stop.
