Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a bank consultant in haematology. The role focuses on ward and board rounds, liaising between nurses, clinicians, patients, and relatives, and supervising other staff.

Flexible shifts range from single sessions to extended posts, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties, with no guaranteed hours. Applicants must have GMC registration and an existing GMC designated body for bank work, and must be able to work at least 12 shifts per month

• Liaise between nurses, other clinicians, patients and relatives to support safe care.
• Attend and take part in board rounds, ward rounds and related daily activities.
• Provide workplace supervision to other staff as and when requested.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism, especially in documentation.
• Arrive on time for booked shifts and be available from the arranged start time.
• Attend local induction when working in new areas.
• Comply with trust policies, including the trust's values and behaviours.
• Other duties commensurate with the post and grade, as advised by the specialty clinical team.
