Job summary

Spire Southampton Hospital is seeking a Bank Clinical Pharmacist to join our staffing bank in Southampton. The role involves interacting with patients across departments, reviewing medications and ensuring safe, effective use of medicines within the hospital.

We offer flexible working with 0 hours contracts, with shifts Monday to Friday and occasional weekends. GPhC registration and hospital experience are essential; post-qualification experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Pharmacists educated to degree level (Diploma desirable).
• Current GPhC registration.
• Post qualifying experience working in a hospital setting is ESSENTIAL.
• Non-medical prescribing would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and support to consultants, nurses and other clinicians ensuring the safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medicines throughout the hospital.
• Build strong working relationships with colleagues and consultants and to work together to improve patient outcomes.
• Interact with patients across various departments to find out their pharmaceutical requirements.
• Suggest new processes/new equipment to improve health outcomes and increase safety throughout the hospital.
