Job summary

Shaw healthcare is recruiting a Bank Catering Assistant to join the team at Wylesfield. You will work as part of the Catering Team under the Cook, helping to deliver home‑cooked meals to residents for bank shifts.

The role offers an opportunity to contribute to high standards of care, with full training provided including leadership development and progression opportunities within Shaw healthcare.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or kitchen roles is preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a care setting.
• Good hygiene and food safety awareness expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist chef with food preparation for residents.
• Independently prepare hot meals or sandwiches for residents.
• Load/unload dishwasher and wash up equipment not suitable for dishwasher.
• Keep kitchen and equipment clean and hygienic.
• Collect and distribute crockery to care floors.
• Clear tea trolleys and maintain tidy work areas.
• Empty rubbish and keep areas free of refuse.
• Follow Health & Safety policies and regulations.

Shaw healthcare is looking for a Bank Catering Assistant to join the team at Wylesfield. You will work under the direction of the Cook to work together as a Catering Team to ensure that delicious home cooked meals are prepared and services to the Residents

Duties Include

• Assist chef with food preparation
• Independently prepare hot meals/sandwiches for residents
• Load and unload dishwasher, wash up equipment unsuitable for dishwasher
• Clean kitchen and equipment
• Collect and distribute crockery from/to the care floors
• Clear tea trolleys where applicable
• Empty kitchen rubbish and keep areas clear of refuse
• Maintain a clean and hygienic environment
• Carry out reasonable requests, as instructed by the Senior Chef/Chef
• Ensure that the nutritional needs of residents are met
• Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Policy and Regulations
