The Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Dietitian to join their Bank team. The role involves assessing and managing the nutritional needs of inpatient mental health patients across various sites, emphasizing effective patient collaboration and tailored treatment plans. Substantial experience in Dietetics is essential, along with a commitment to ensuring continuity of care and adherence to Trust policies.
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Dietitian work on the Bank within AWP. There are opportunities to work across all of our mental health inpatient sites with covers BNSSG and BSW.
Hospital sites include: Bristol, Bath, Weston-Super-Mare, Swindon, Devizes and Salisbury
You should have substantial experience working as a Dietitian.
It is desirable that you are enthusiastic and motivated to work with people with severe mental illness. You will need to demonstrate effectiveness in ensuring the continuity of care for service users and full implementation of Trust policies.
Support will be given by the lead dietitian. We have brilliant supervision structures in place.
This vacancy is for a bank role and hours will be agreed with the team.
You will have clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients and to organise this effectively with regard to clinical priorities and use of time.
You will assess the nutritional status and lifestyle of appropriately referred In patients within the Mental Health services and collaborate with the service users to establish realistic and achievable aims and objectives, plans and interventions.
You will formulate individualised management and treatment plans to help promote optimal physical and mental health and nutritional status with regular supervision from Dietetic Manager. This will include providing advice on the appropriate timing of interventions such as food fortification, nutritional supplements.
You will monitor patients and alter treatment plans according to changes in physical or psychological conditions taking into account biochemical and anthropometric measurements, changes in medication and dietary compliance.
