Job summary

The Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting an Advanced Practitioner Sonographer to work across our ultrasound service, covering hospital sites and community settings. The postholder will scan independently across obstetric, abdominal, gynaecology, small parts, vascular and other disciplines, with radiologist support for complex cases.

Applicants must hold an ultrasound diploma or DCR(R)/BSc, HCPC registration, and have at least one year of NHS ultrasound experience.

Qualifications

• DCR(R) or BSc.
• Diploma or postgraduate diploma in medical ultrasound.
• Postgraduate ultrasound qualification covering obstetrics, abdominal, gynaeology and vascular.
• HCPC registration.
• At least one year’s NHS ultrasound experience.

Responsibilities

• Scan independently across ultrasound disciplines and report all studies undertaken.
• Scan abdominal, gynaeology, obstetric, small parts and DVT patients.
• Provide scans for obstetrics, abdominal, gynaeology, small parts, musculoskeletal and vascular services across hospital sites and community settings.
• Seek radiologist support for more complex cases where required.

Job description

Bank advanced practitioner sonographer post in the ultrasound service at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, covering hospital sites and community settings. The postholder scans independently across several disciplines and reports every study, with radiologist support for more complex cases. Scanning takes place in purpose-built units with dedicated GE machines, in obstetrics, the general department and Community Diagnostic Centres. Applicants need an ultrasound diploma, HCPC registration and at least one year's NHS ultrasound experience.
