Job description

Role: Pharmacy Technician
Banding: Band 5
Location: Derbyshire
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £19 – £22 per hour
Working hours: Full time

We are seeking a versatile and skilled ACT/MMT Pharmacist to join our team. This Band 5 position is flexible and may involve working in the ward or the dispensary, depending on your qualifications and experience. If you are only an ACT, we may adjust our team to accommodate ward-level work by swapping one of our technicians.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide expert clinical pharmacy services in a ward-based setting or dispensary. Develop and implement medication management protocols. Conduct medication reviews and provide therapeutic advice. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Participate in research and quality improvement projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience/Knowledge:
    • NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or Qualified Pharmacy Technician with relevant certification.
    • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacy technician.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ post-registration NHS hospital pharmacy experience.
    • Previous experience with JAC EPMA is desirable but not essential.
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
    • Good organizational skills to manage workload and meet deadlines.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
