22 Music School is seeking an enthusiastic Band Leader to run Amplify Academy sessions, lead weekly rehearsals and inspire young musicians. This part-time, temporary role welcomes someone who loves teaching, mentoring and building confidence through music.

You'll coach ensembles, prepare bands for live performances and adapt activities to different ages. DBS checks and UK work eligibility are required; we offer a supportive teaching team and ongoing opportunities to grow.

Qualifications

• Experienced musician with strong performance skills.
• Confidently lead rehearsals and motivate groups.
• Experience teaching children and young people.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learning styles and ages.
• Reliable, professional and organised.
• Values of commitment, respect and high-quality education.
• Passionate about helping young people develop through music.
• Holds (or willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check.
• Has the right to work in the UK.

About Amplify Academy

Amplify Academy is our weekly band programme where young musicians come together to rehearse, develop performance skills, build confidence and experience playing as part of a live band. Our focus is on creating an exciting, supportive environment where every student can thrive regardless of ability.

The Role

You will:

• Lead weekly Amplify Academy band rehearsals.
• Coach students in ensemble performance and musicianship.
• Prepare bands for live performances and concerts.
• Inspire confidence, teamwork and musical creativity.
• Adapt rehearsals to suit different ages and abilities.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents and the management team.

As our student numbers continue to grow, there will be opportunities to take on:

• One-to-one instrumental tuition
• Small group teaching
• Holiday workshops
• Alternative Provision and therapeutic music sessions (where appropriate)
