Job summary

Job Overview

The Lead Pharmacy Digital Officer will drive strategic integration of digital technologies, including AI, to transform medicines optimisation and pharmacy services across BHRUT.

Reporting to the Chief Pharmacy Information Officer (CPIO), the postholder will act as the key interface between Pharmacy, the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme, Barts Health NHS Trust (BHT) and wider Trust digital initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support technology‑enabled process change to improve safety, quality and efficiency of pharmacy systems.
  • Support or lead development of AI and technology to support service development, delivery and process improvement related to medicines.
  • Work closely with Trust IT and the IT Information Officers network to ensure services are aligned and complementary.

BHRUT operates from two main sites – KGH in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford – serving more than 330,000 emergency department visitors annually.
