Overview

This role is within Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, which operates from two main sites – KGH in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. The post holder will be a clinical and professional leader who will strengthen the infection prevention and control nursing contribution to ensure safety of patients and service users across BHRUT.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Deputy Director of Infection Prevention and Control (Dep. DIPC) to lead on the development of an IPC strategy and engage all groups of staff, patients and external organisations.
• Manage the two Senior IPC Clinical Nursing Specialists (CNS) and provide leadership across the Trust.
• Develop and ensure IPC practice compliance across the Trust in accordance with national standards.
• Monitor Trust KPI thresholds and contribute to improvement programmes.
• Facilitate liaison between internal and external partners to promote collaborative working across the system.
• Plan, provide and promote a comprehensive 7‑day IPC service across BHRUT.
