Job Title: Senior Pharmacist – Antimicrobials
Banding: Band 8a
Location: London, Greater London
Start: ASAP
Duration: 3 Months
Rate: £38.00 – £40.00 Per Hour
Working hours: Monday – Friday, 8:45am to 5:15pm

Are you a passionate and experienced Pharmacist with a keen interest in antimicrobial stewardship? Our client, a prestigious healthcare provider based in London, is seeking a dedicated Band 8a Senior Pharmacist to join their team. This is an exceptional opportunity to work in a forward-thinking environment where you can make a significant impact on patient care and antimicrobial practices.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will lead and support the appropriate use of antimicrobials across the organisation. Your role will involve providing expert clinical advice on antimicrobial prescribing, participating in microbiology ward rounds, and developing local antibiotic treatment guidelines. You will audit current practices, utilising findings to drive improvements, and coordinate the organisation’s performance against national antimicrobial targets. Additionally, you will provide education and training to healthcare professionals, ensuring the safe, effective, and economic use of antimicrobials. Your dedication to antimicrobial stewardship and collaborative approach will be key to enhancing patient care and outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Registered Pharmacist with the GPhC
• Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or a related field
• Advanced qualification in antimicrobial stewardship or infectious diseases (desirable)
• Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in a hospital pharmacy setting
• Proven experience in antimicrobial stewardship and clinical microbiology
• Experience in developing and implementing clinical guidelines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to lead and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
