Job summary

Job description
Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the expanding Radiation Protection and Imaging Physics (RPIP) Department based at Queen's Hospital Romford as a Band 8a Senior Clinical Scientist.

This post is suitable for someone who has already achieved recognition as a Medical Physics Expert or is working towards completing their portfolio, and the department has recently had a significant funding boost.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a high quality, comprehensive Radiation Protection and Diagnostic Radiology Physics service to the Trust, patients and clients.
  • Participate in the development of the delivery of clinical diagnostic services and highly specialised scientific support in the fields of radiological imaging physics and radiation protection.
  • Contribute to the improvement of clinical diagnostic services, including the delivery of clinical diagnostic services and the management of the Radiology Physics service.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist – applicants not meeting this requirement will not be shortlisted.
  • Recognition as a Medical Physics Expert or completion of the required portfolio for Band 8a.
  • Band 8a Senior Clinical Scientist – a high level of scientific knowledge and experience in Radiation Protection and Imaging Physics.
