A leading NHS Trust in the UK is looking for a Band 8a Practitioner Psychologist to join their Enfield Pain Service. This exciting position involves providing psychological assessments and interventions for patients with chronic pain conditions. The successful candidate will manage and supervise team members while contributing to service delivery and evaluation. Band 8a Practitioner Psychologist in Pain Management This is an exciting opportunity to join the Enfield Pain Service (EPS) which serves patients who have a long‑term pain condition e.g. chronic lower back pain, chronic widespread pain, fibromyalgia. The EPS is staffed by a supportive team of medical, physiotherapy and psychology professionals as we acknowledge that pain impacts a person's life in lots of different ways. You'll be working under the supervision of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist to deliver psychological assessment and intervention (1:1 and group pain management programmes based on CBT/ACT/CFT) for this cohort of patients. You'll also be supporting the wider multidisciplinary team and liaising with relevant external community services e.g. Talking Therapies, MSK services, community mental health teams. As one of the senior clinicians in the service, you'll be managing and supervising other members of the EPS, leading on aspects of service delivery, evaluation and innovation, and taking on managerial duties to ensure the effective running of the service. Previous experience of working in Pain and/or Long‑term Health Conditions is essential. Having additional training and experience in EMDR and PTSD would be advantageous. Working in pain services can be incredibly rewarding, where psychology is highly valued, and you will develop your skills and experiences of working as a senior clinician and manager in a supportive team.
