Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust seeks a highly visible Midwife Matron to lead maternity services within the Collaborative, delivering safe, high quality care across sites.

You will support the Director of Midwifery in organisation, development and provision of maternity services, ensure standard setting and audit, and provide leadership to midwifery managers and staff while promoting sustainable service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Midwife with current active registration.
  • Leadership or management experience in maternity services preferred.
  • Willingness to travel between sites as required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee maternity services within the Collaborative, ensuring safe, high-quality care.
  • Support the Director of Midwifery in organisation, development and delivery of services and standards.
  • Drive audit, standard setting and governance across sites.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and professional development to midwifery managers and staff.

Job description

The post is a key member of the Collaborative Senior Midwifery team. You will work to support the Collaborative quad and will have shared responsibility for:

The delivery of quality services
The performance management of the services in line with relevant targets and standards
Oversight of clinical ef
Providing leadership, support and advice to midwifery managers and staff
Contribute, as appropriate, to Collaborative strategy development and implementation
Ensuring good working relationships with other Networks/Service lines across the Collaborative

The post holder will be a highly visible, proactive and accessible Midwife lead, acting as a role model and clinical resource within the Collaborative and ensuring the sustained delivery of high standards of Midwifery care and service delivery, to Midwifery and Nursing staff, patients and the public.

Main duties of the job

Midwifery Matron

Support the Director of Midwifery in the organisation, development and provision of maternity services within North Cumbria. Being responsible and accountable for the organisation and delivery of care within the designated maternity unit and local community. Ensure delivery of high standards of care with particular responsibility for standard setting and audit.
