About the role:

The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specialist Senior Oncology Pharmacist to join our team in London. This is a temporary position from 6 August 2024 to 30 November 2024, offering a competitive pay rate.

Key Responsibilities:

You will provide a clinical pharmacy service to oncology patients. You will lead in the clinical screening of chemotherapy prescriptions. You will function as an Independent Prescriber (IP) within oncology clinics. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare staff. You will support the Outsourcing and Aseptic Services Pharmacy Team. You will manage medicines optimization and medicine management activities. You will ensure the safe and effective provision of anticancer treatment to both inpatients and outpatients. You will act as a role model for junior pharmacists and assist in their education and training. You will participate in the development of clinical pharmacy services and research initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience/Knowledge:
    • Up to date GPhC registration.
    • Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy or Oncology Pharmacy is preferred.
    • Hospital experience is required.
    • Experience in in oncology and haematology is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of aseptic and systemic anti-cancer treatment (SACT).
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Time management and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
