Job description
Overview

This is a permanent part‑time role (18.75 hours per week) that shares the responsibility for clinical governance across Dental Services at Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, plan, support, facilitate and monitor governance projects including incident management, audit, complaint handling and patient safety initiatives.
  • Design, develop and deliver in‑house training linked to clinical governance projects.
  • Develop and maintain the Dental Services risk assessment, risk register and incident reporting systems.
  • Manage the patient experience and complaint systems in line with NHS and Trust legislation, policies and procedures.
Governance
  • Develop and manage projects related to the implementation and assurance of CQC registration and standards.
  • Manage governance groups to ensure action and improvement with reference to national regulatory agencies such as CQC and GDC.
Patient Safety and Risk Management
  • Continuously develop risk management within Dental Services according to the Trust Risk Management Strategy.
  • Review and develop the Dental Services Risk Management Strategy in line with the Trust Risk Management Framework.
  • Lead on effective divisional risk register management and ensure it accurately reflects divisional risks, reviewed and updated regularly, escalated monthly to Divisional Quality Safety Board and Divisional Leadership Team.
