Deputy Matron for Antenatal Clinics and In‑Patient Wards

This post holder will provide midwifery clinical input and provide level leadership to the maternity.

This role requires a highly motivated individual, able to demonstrate leadership and problem‑solving skills working closely with the multi‑disciplinary team, specialty Matrons, Head of Midwifery (HOM) and Lead Nurse for Women’s Health and the Director of Midwifery and Divisional Director of Nursing for Women’s Heath (DOM).

The post holder is responsible for providing accessible leadership in order to deliver the key quality, performance and financial standards and plans within their areas(s) of responsibility. Providing visible and proactive leadership acting as a clinical resource and ensuring the sustained delivery of high standards of all care and service standards.

Working as an autonomous practitioner, they will lead and be accountable for midwifery performance and the achievement of all local, organisational and national targets and standards, within their area(s) of responsibility.
