BHRUT maternity department is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Deputy Matron for Antenatal Clinics and In-Patient Wards . This post holder will provide midwifery clinical input and provide level leadership to the maternity. This role requires a highly motivated individual, able to demonstrate leadership and problem‑solving skills working closely with the multi‑disciplinary team, specialty Matrons, Head of Midwifery (HOM) and Lead Nurse for Women’s Health and the Director of Midwifery and Divisional Director of Nursing for Women’s Heath (DOM).
The post holder is responsible for providing accessible leadership in order to deliver the key quality, performance and financial standards and plans within their area(s) of responsibility. Providing visible and proactive leadership acting as a clinical resource and ensuring the sustained delivery of high standards of all care and service standards.
Working as an autonomous practitioner, they will lead and be accountable for midwifery performance and the achievement of all local, organisational and national targets and standards, within their area(s) of responsibility.

We run a Women’s Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospitaland at St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
