Band 7 Specialist Pharmacist - Cancer,Nutrition,Paediatric&Production

The post holder is responsible for delivering and helping the Principal Pharmacists todevelop a high quality pharmacy service across a variety of different specialities on arotational basis, in accordance with objectives set by section leads. This will includeproviding clinical pharmacy services to cancer services, clinical nutrition and paediatricspecialities, and managing the day-to-day running of aseptic services, includingcytotoxic and central intravenous additive services and dispensary services for cancerpatient.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be providing clinical pharmacy services to cancer services, clinical nutrition and paediatric specialities, and managing the day-to-day running of aseptic services, including cytotoxic and central intravenous additive services and dispensary services for cancer patients.The post holder will work approximately 9 month blocks in the following rotations:- Cancer Services Dispensary Service with Cancer Services Clinical Pharmacy.- Central Intravenous Additive Service with Paediatric Clinical Pharmacy.- Total Parenteral Nutrition Service with TPN and Production Service.- Cancer Services Clinical Pharmacy.

Qualifications
  • MPharm or equivalent or BPharm for those qualified before 2002.
  • Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Currently undertaking post-graduate education e.g. clinical diploma, PTQA or having completed one of these.
Experience
  • Significant relevant experience working in hospital pharmacy (preregistration year spent in hospital service is eligible).
  • Comprehensive Band 6 rotation, including Aseptic Services & Oncology/Haematology
