A prominent healthcare provider in North Cumbria is seeking a Specialist Palliative Care Nurse to join their community team. This role involves providing high-quality palliative care and managing staff while developing specialist skills. We are seeking a Specialist Palliative Care Nurse to join our community team at an exciting time of development. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone passionate about palliative care and looking to contribute to how specialist services can support the NHS 10-Year Plan.
The role involves working alongside a talented, dedicated team to provide the highest quality specialist palliative care, supporting patients, families and carers across Carlisle and Penrith, with occasional support across North Cumbria or at secondary care sites.
In addition to clinical duties, the post includes operational management of staff and caseloads, requiring strong organisational and leadership skills, alongside a sound knowledge of the governance agenda to ensure our patients are safe.
This role offers the chance to develop specialist skills, make a tangible difference in patients' lives, and contribute to the evolution of specialist palliative care across the region.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. Standard check: £21.50 + administration cost of £5.90 = £27.40 (deducted over 4 months or one‑off). Enhanced check: £49.50 + administration cost of £5.90 = £55.40 (deducted over 4 months or one‑off).
