Applicants with 12 months post-registration hospital experience may join under AfC Annex 21 (75% pay) and progress to full Band 7 after completing a clinical diploma or NHSE/RPS pathway.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
- Completion of first year of clinical diploma or NHSE/RPS Newly Qualified Pharmacist Pathway or equivalent, evidenced by dated communication or signed-off documentation.
- Current GPhC registration.
- Evidence of continued Professional Development in Pharmacy related matters.
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
- Member of UKCPA.
- In-house training and accreditation for PN and aseptics.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy.
- Willing to work towards non‑medical prescribing qualification.
Responsibilities
- Clinically verify haem/onc prescriptions.
- Provide inpatient clinical pharmacy service to haem/onc wards.
- Counsel and support oral SACT patients.
- Support aseptic services with final release of chemotherapy products.
- Assist with introduction of new medicines into services and EP system updates.
- Contribute to service development and audits.
- Support the on-call rota.

Join one of the UK's largest and most progressive Cancer Services teams and play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. We are seeking a motivated pharmacist with an interest in cancer services to join our Rotational Band 7 Programme. This is a unique opportunity offering structured development and the chance to gain advanced clinical and aseptic experience across oncology, haematology and technical services. UHB is a tertiary referral Cancer Centre with 5 outpatient day units, 4 inpatient wards, a specialist BMT and CAR-T service, and dedicated outpatient clinics. Pharmacists are fully integrated across ward services, day units, aseptic units, and pharmacist-led clinics. You will join a large, supportive, multidisciplinary team with strong collaboration at its core. Previous cancer experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. Applicants with 12 months' post-registration hospital experience may be appointed under AfC Annex 21 (75% pay), progressing to full Band 7 on completion of a clinical diploma or NHSE/RPS pathway. Cross-site working across UHB is expected.
Work as part of our pharmacy cancer services team to: Clinically verify haem/onc prescriptions Provide inpatient clinical pharmacy service to the haem/onc wards when at QE Ensure oral SACT patients receive appropriate counselling and support with their medication Support aseptic services with final release of chemotherapy products Support the introduction of new medicines into the services, this may include preparing prescriptions for inclusion on the electronic prescribing system Support service development initiatives Contribute to audit programmes as needed. Support the on-call rota.

- Master's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
