Job summary

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Occupational Therapist for the CYPIT children's therapy service. The post involves specialist assessment and treatment of children with complex needs, plus leading and mentoring colleagues within a MDT framework. Remote working is an option; a car is required for across- Berkshire travel.

The role requires HCPC registration and paediatric community experience, with Monday to Friday day shifts. NHS Professionals booking applies.

Qualifications

• OT qualification
• HCPC registration
• Experience of a paediatric caseload in community settings
• Car driver with access to own car, willing to work across Berkshire

Responsibilities

• Specialist clinical assessment and treatment of children and young people with complex presentations, and support for other clinicians doing the same
• Lead the development of other therapists in the specialist area through support, mentoring, training and specialist advice
• Define core competencies for staff to work towards
• Share expertise and advise across the CYPF division, with wider MDT partners and parents
• Develop community paediatric OT clinical skills in clinicians, assistants and students, including informing the appraisal process
• Contribute to service development in the area of specialism, ensuring best practice across CYPF
