Band 7 Senior Nurse

Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) offers an inclusive and dedicated organisation working to provide excellent care to our entitled personnel. This full‑time role (37.5 hours per week) is based at Royal Air Force Leeming, Gatenby and Northallerton, with cover required at other facilities in the Southern region (Leconfield, York, Dishforth).

Job responsibilities
  • Plan and manage complete episodes of care; undertake independent comprehensive assessment and management of service users.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary team, providing expert clinical advice, leadership and support.
  • Triage urgent care requests and consult with patients or direct them appropriately.
  • Develop nursing output across the network, working flexibly and adaptably, and highlight shortfalls to Senior Medical Office or regional headquarters.
  • Collect, collate, evaluate and report information, maintaining accurate confidential patient records to a very high standard reflective of Advanced Clinical Practice.
Qualifications and experience
  • Advanced Practice Nurse qualification or evidence of level 6 or 7 courses in relevant areas (or equivalent competence and experience).
  • Registered Nurse on Part 1 of the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Registered non‑medical prescriber (or equivalent).
  • Learning and Assessing in Practice qualification or equivalent practice assessors training.
