Are you keen to develop your clinical and service development skills because you know how important Dietetics for children and young people is?Here at Barnet, our Dieticians play a vital role in supporting patients to optimise their abilities through therapeutic interventions and empowering collaboration.

The Children and Young People's Therapy Team is comprised of Dieticians and Physiotherapists who work collaboratively with the Allergy, Diabetes, Ward and Neonatal teams to provide patient centred care.Depending on skills the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with outpatient general and allergy patients and/or inpatient's on the neonatal unit and children's ward.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own clinical caseload and supervise therapy students as required. You will be peer supported by highly skilled and experienced Band 7 staff throughout each specialty and work closely with the B8a CYP therapy lead. You will be joining a well established and supportive integrated Therapy team, who work closely with the multidisciplinary team.

Education & professional Qualifications
  • Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration
  • Evidence or portfolio of postgraduate continued development
  • Membership of BDA specialist group
Experience
  • Experience of working with a wide range of paediatric patients, including those with eating disorders such as ARFID and/or mental health diagnoses
  • Experience of multidisciplinary and interagency working
  • Awareness/experience of setting & maintaining clinical standards and clinical audit
  • Evidence of service development & contribution to change within the workplace, including Quality Improvement
  • Previous experience of junior staff & student supervision/ clinical education
  • Evidence of presentation of own research/project work
  • Actively involved in teaching and challenging the multidisciplinary team
Skills and aptitudes
  • Core skills in Dietetics, including knowledge of artificial nutrition support, anthropometry, meal planning and weight/growth management.
  • Ability to implement motivational interviewing & behaviour change strategies
  • Knowledge of recent developments in the profession
  • Positive attitude to, and ability to cope well with change
  • Good presentation and group work skills, including leading on group intervention
