Job summary

Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Experts at Hand team as a specialist consultant for children with complex needs. You will provide expert advice, training, and intervention planning across schools, families, and health partners to enable participation and independence in everyday environments.

• Post-graduate experience of working with children with SEND.
• Post-graduate experience of working with children with sensory processing issues.
• Experience of leading service development.
• Experience of community based working - including education settings, SI training - Level 3 / equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of SEND, SEND reforms, Expert at Hand plans.
• Core OT skills to support functional skills, executive functioning.

Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist looking for an exciting opportunity to work in our newly formed, forward-thinkingExpert at Hand service?, This is a great opportunity for a specialist OT who is passionate about enabling children and young people with complex needs to achieve the best possible outcomes within their everyday environments. Rather than delivering a traditional caseload model, you will work as a specialist consultant, providing expert advice, support, training and intervention planning to professionals, education settings, families and wider health and care partners. As part of the Experts at Hand team, you will contribute your specialist occupational therapy expertise to support the management of complex cases across a range of settings. Working alongside colleagues from a variety of professional backgrounds, you will help build confidence, skills and capacity within the wider workforce, ensuring children and young people receive the right support at the right time., Provide specialist occupational therapy advice and consultation for children and young people, both in relation to sensory processing, functional skills and executive functioning. Work collaboratively with schools, education providers, health professionals and families to support participation, inclusion and independence. Contribute to multidisciplinary discussions and decision-making within complex and challenging cases. Support education staff to understand and implement occupational therapy strategies within the classroom and wider school environment. Develop and deliver high-quality training packages, workshops and learning opportunities for schools, partner agencies and professionals. Provide clinical leadership and occupational therapy expertise to colleagues across the service. Support colleagues and partner organisations in problem-solving and identifying effective approaches for children and young people with highly complex presentations. Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives and the ongoing growth of the Experts at Hand model. Promote evidence-based practice and support the translation of specialist knowledge into practical approaches that can be embedded in everyday settings.

Please be aware that while SI training to level 3 or equivalent experience is desirable, it is not essential for this role.
