Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join the CAMHS Team in the beautiful region of Ayrshire & Arran. Offering a competitive hourly rate of £37.64 and the flexibility to work full-time or part-time, this role is perfect for an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to advance their career while making a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people with complex mental health needs.

You will play a pivotal role in delivering specialist interventions, supporting recovery, and improving participation in daily life for young people and their families within a supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide advanced and specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions for children and young people experiencing complex mental health difficulties.

Deliver both individual and group-based interventions focusing on self-care, emotional regulation, functional skills, and participation in meaningful activities.

Manage a complex caseload using highly developed clinical reasoning and decision-making.

Develop, implement, and evaluate patient‑centred care plans in partnership with young people, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues.

Lead OT‑specific risk assessments and contribute to safety planning and crisis management.

Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and guidance to junior staff members and students.

Lead and participate in service improvement initiatives within CAMHS and represent Occupational Therapy in multidisciplinary meetings.

Collaborate closely with schools, paediatric services, social work, and external agencies to ensure integrated care.
