Job Description:
A qualified Band 7 Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist is required to undertake a temporary assignment, with an immediate start for a minimum duration of three months. The role involves managing a clinical caseload of children and young people with complex communication needs at Perseid Special Schools within the borough of Sutton, South London.

What your responsibilities will be for this Speech and Language Therapy role?

The role requires independently managing and prioritising a clinical caseload of children and young people according to the service specification. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for children with eating and drinking difficulties, as well as supporting and training families and school staff to implement relevant programmers. The role also involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating children with complex communication needs, including those using Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) devices. Additionally, the position includes delivering training to ensure the effective execution of Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) communication programs as part of each child’s therapy plan.

Essential Requirements:

  • Professional qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience in managing complex caseloads within a special school setting.
  • Proficiency in the use of AAC devices.
