Job summary

Pulse Healthcare is seeking a Band 7 Locum General Sonographer in Birmingham. The role covers weekdays and weekends, with a standard pay rate of £47-£48 per hour and uplifts for weekend shifts.

The candidate will perform diverse ultrasound scans, operate state‑of‑the‑art equipment, and ensure accurate reporting while maintaining patient comfort and safety. HCPC registration and Band 7 experience are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent with a postgraduate diploma in Medical Ultrasound.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Extensive experience in general ultrasound imaging, preferably at Band 7 level.
• Proficiency in operating advanced ultrasound equipment.
• Strong knowledge of ultrasound safety standards and practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Flexibility to work on weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of ultrasound scans to support diagnosis and patient management.
• Operate advanced ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality images and accurate reports.
• Maintain patient comfort and safety during procedures and document records.
