Job description
Overview

Are you a Dietitian looking for a new challenge in a unique and rewarding clinical setting? Would you like to work autonomously while still feeling supported and connected to a wider team?

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Band 7 Advanced Dietitian to join our Adult Forensic Services (AFS) at the Riverside Centre on a part-time basis (0.8 WTE/30 hours).

You will lead the dietetic input across our low and medium secure forensic inpatient units, supporting service users with complex mental and physical health needs on their recovery journey. This is a specialist and autonomous post where your expertise will directly shape care and outcomes.

As the lead Dietitian for AFS, you will provide specialist clinical input across a wide-ranging and rewarding caseload. Key areas include:

Responsibilities
  • Supporting patients who are underweight or at refeeding risk
  • Delivering tailored weight management advice and interventions
  • Providing diabetes education and dietary management
  • Delivering individual dietetic assessments and group education sessions

You'll work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence based, person-centred care, and you'll be a visible advocate for the role of nutrition in mental health recovery in the AFS.

Autonomy and Support

Although this is a standalone post within AFS, you won’t be working in isolation. You will have access to:

  • Regular clinical supervision and line management
  • Peer support and CPD opportunities via the wider GMMH dietetic network
  • Study days, training, and leadership opportunities

This is a dynamic, rewarding role offering autonomy, development, and the chance to make a real impact in the lives of people facing complex challenges.
