Job summary

Athona's Nursing division is seeking a Band 7 Advance Nurse Practitioner (ANP) for an NHS Trust-based role in Barking. The position involves hospital-based shift work across East London and Essex, with autonomous nursing practice and strong patient assessment skills.

Band 7 ANPs will work with a flexible pattern (part-time/full-time/ad-hoc), including long days and night shifts. NHS DBS and full NMC registration are required, with training and CPD support available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months NHS experience within the last 2 years.
• ANP role requires autonomous practice and NMC registration.
• Sepsis training desirable and exposure to PGDs is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients with minor illnesses or injuries.
• Refer to X-ray and interpret results as needed.
• Administer medications via IM/SC injections and manage wounds.

Job description

Athona's Nursing division is currently recruiting for ANPs, agency nurses, with an opportunity based in East London and Essex and surrounding areas. This is hospital-based shift work for an NHS Trust. Band 7 ANPs are required to be autonomous practitioners registered with the NMC as Registered Nurse (RN12) and competent in the following areas:

• Top to Toe Health Assessment Needs Module
• Minor Illness and Major Injuries module
• Non-Medical Prescribing (desirable)
• Ability to work on PGDs
• Assess, diagnose, treat, manage patients presenting with minor injuries, including referral to X-Ray and X-Ray interpretation
• Suturing and Suture/Staple removal
• IRMER/Red Dot Training
• General Wound Care
• Administration of medication via IM injection / SC injection
• NHS Smartcard holder with experience in SystmOne or Rio patient record systems
• Sepsis Training
• Phlebotomy/Venepuncture (Desirable)

Candidate requirements

• Full NMC registration
• Enhanced DBS for Adults and Children
