Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a Band 6 Surgical Wards Pharmacy Technician for a full-time locum ongoing position in Luton, UK. The role requires HCPC registration and at least two years of experience in surgical and medical adult wards, with a competitive hourly rate of £26.00.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care, accurate medication histories, and effective collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Driving licence is preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in surgical and medical adult wards.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical care within acute hospital settings.
• Driving licence preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients on surgical wards, ensuring safe and effective use of medications.
• Perform accurate medication history checks and provide counselling to patients regarding prescribed medications.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop individualised care plans.
• Ensure accurate and efficient dispensing of medications to enhance patient outcomes.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation according to department protocols.
• Participate in ward rounds to provide pharmaceutical expertise and immediate therapeutic advice.
