Job summary

HCRG Care Group in Essex is seeking a permanent Band 6 Specialist Speech & Language Therapist to join our Community Children’s Therapy Team, covering Uttlesford, Harlow and Epping Forest. The post is based mainly in Uttlesford, with flexible options for other locations.

You’ll contribute to specialist assessments and interventions for school aged children, benefit from regular supervision, eLearning and career development opportunities, and NHS Pension with AFC terms.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration.
• Post-qualification training and experience in paediatric SLT.
• Full driving licence and access to a car for work.

Job Introduction

We are looking for a permanent Band 6 Specialist Speech & Language Therapist to join our Community Children’s Therapy Team in West Essex, covering Uttlesford, Harlow and Epping Forest. This post is based predominantly in the Uttlesford area, however other locations can be considered if required.

You will join our award winning Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service, where we are trail blazing a new integrated partnership model with Barnardo’s; a model that drives efficiencies so we can put more people in our services, spending time with children and families to improve health outcomes in the local community.

Working in a diverse multidisciplinary team with other dedicated staff, you will benefit from the support of friendly and inclusive colleagues, with access to regular supervision, training and team meetings.

Job Responsibilities

As a Band 6 within our Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Service, you will provide specialist assessment and management of school aged children and young people across community settings and in local specialist educational provisions. You will work closely within the wider Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service including the Community Nursing Team, the Healthy Family Team, Paediatric Community Dietitian Service, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Services and Community Paediatricians as well as external colleagues and partners in Health, Education and Social Care.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have a degree qualification or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy and post qualification training and experience. You will also be registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy.

You will have strong communication and organisational skills, and a flexible approach will ensureyou deliver positive experiences to service users at every stage of theirhealthcare journey.

As this is a community role, it is essential that you hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes.
