Overview

A Vacancy at Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a Band 6 rotational scheme across both sites (KGH in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford) and in the community.
• Rotate through multiple therapy areas including Stroke, Acute Frailty Therapy Team, Care of the Elderly, Specialist Haematology and Oncology, Gastroenterology, Renal, Acute Respiratory, Orthopaedics, Surgical, Acute Medical Ward and Respiratory.
• Fulfil a teaching and supervisory role with peers, junior staff and students on placement.
• Provide a high standard of Occupational Therapy service using a holistic approach, facilitating and maximising patient potential within service boundaries.
• Work with support from the Practice Development Facilitator for Therapies and the Senior Intern for Allied Healthcare Professionals; engage with an established in-service training programme and senior staff for guidance.
• Contribute to the organisation’s aim to deliver high quality care and participate in professional development activities.

Additional Information

We operate from two main sites – KGH in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments and ongoing plans to transform services. We run a Women’s Health Hub in Ilford, an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch, and Community Diagnostic Centres at Barking Community Hospital and at St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub.
