Job description
Overview

A Vacancy at Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in a Band 6 rotational scheme across both sites (KGH in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford) and in the community.
  • Rotate through multiple therapy areas including Stroke, Acute Frailty Therapy Team, Care of the Elderly, Specialist Haematology and Oncology, Gastroenterology, Renal, Acute Respiratory, Orthopaedics, Surgical, Acute Medical Ward and Respiratory.
  • Fulfil a teaching and supervisory role with peers, junior staff and students on placement.
  • Provide a high standard of Occupational Therapy service using a holistic approach, facilitating and maximising patient potential within service boundaries.
  • Work with support from the Practice Development Facilitator for Therapies and the Senior Intern for Allied Healthcare Professionals; engage with an established in-service training programme and senior staff for guidance.
  • Contribute to the organisation’s aim to deliver high quality care and participate in professional development activities.

  • Highly qualified, reliable and innovative Occupational Therapist with proven experience and ambition.
  • Ability to operate across multiple sites and in the community as part of the rotational scheme.

Additional Information

We operate from two main sites – KGH in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments and ongoing plans to transform services. We run a Women’s Health Hub in Ilford, an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch, and Community Diagnostic Centres at Barking Community Hospital and at St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub. The majority of our 8,400 staff come from diverse backgrounds, and many participate in flexible working and apprenticeship programmes.
