Overview

A vacancy at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust for the role of Care Coordinator within the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Service. The position involves supporting service users aged 16‑35 with first‑episode psychosis using an assertive outreach model over up to three years.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate care and manage a defined caseload of EIP patients.
  • Deliver NICE‑guided clinical interventions, including behavioural family therapy (full training provided).
  • Provide carers support and family‑focused interventions.
  • Maintain ongoing supervision, participate in in‑house development and training, and complete annual appraisal.
  • Liaise with local agencies – inpatient and specialist services, social care, core community and urgent care teams – to ensure seamless support.
  • Act as a role model, upholding the organisation's values and professionalism.
  • Use initiative and take responsibility for the quality of work and service delivery.
Qualifications
  • Qualified mental health nurse, occupational therapist or social worker.
  • Registered with a professional body (e.g., NMC, HCPC).
  • Experience or interest in psychosis, preferably in an early intervention setting.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team across three sites.
