Job summary

Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in East Grinstead is recruiting a Band 6 Radiographer to join the Plain Film, CT and CBCT services, with rotation through general imaging and CBCT. The post is part time (27.5 hours per week) with an on-call commitment and a pro rata salary of £39,959–£48,117 per annum.

Applicants should have DCR or BSc in Diagnostic Radiography with HCPC registration and IV cannulation; MRI/CT experience is desirable, and the role includes supervising student

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Rotate through general radiography, CT and CBCT within Radiology.
• Work as part of a professional radiography team providing high quality diagnostic service.
• Maintain patient-centred care and uphold professional standards set by HPC.
• Train and supervise student radiographers during placements.
• Participate in on-call rota after competency is demonstrated.

We are looking for a Band 6 to work in Plain Film, CT and CBCT and to rotate in the Sussex Community Hospitals. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and patient focused radiographer to support the Radiology department.

Main duties of the job

The role will rotate through general, CT and CBCT whilst being supported by experienced radiographers.

When the successful candidate is fully competent there is an expectation to participate in the On Call Rota.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

• Be able to use the full range of radiographic equipment within the departments including general, mobile, CBCT, and fluoroscopy
• To work as part of a professional radiography team providing a high quality diagnostic service
• To maintain a sensitive and courteous approach to all patients
• To develop and improve professional expertise via continuous professional development
• To maintain a safe working environment within the departments
• Clinically supervise and train Student Radiographers during Hospital placements
• Maintain the highest professional standards as set out by the Health Professions Council

The successful applicant once fully trained, will be expected to produce high quality diagnostic images as per the department protocols and policies.

Qualifications

• DCR (Diploma of the College of radiographers) or BSC (Bachelor of Science) Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or able to demonstrate specialist knowledge within this field through practical experience
• Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration
• Certificate in Intravenous (IV) Cannulation

Experience

• At least 1 years Band 5 experience
• Experience of working unsupervised
• Awareness of clinical governance issues in relation to patient care
• MRI/CT experience
• Experience of training staff and students
