Role Overview

The PCLS teams are the main integrated referral points into adult secondary mental health services, providing mental health support, brief interventions, advice, and signposting for service users, their carers, GPs, and other agencies. The team is multidisciplinary, including nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists, non-medical prescribers, and social workers.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments and psychoeducation for adults aged 18 and above.
  2. Support triage and referral processes through duty functions.
  3. Engage in collaborative working with a multidisciplinary team.
  4. Develop skills in brief interventions, non-medical prescribing, and management.
Requirements
  • Relevant professional registration, degree-level education, or equivalent knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sensitivity and tact in engagement.
  • Open to newly qualified social workers, with initial Band 5 recruitment and progression upon ASYE completion.
Working Arrangements

Flexible working, compressed hours, blended home working, with assessments via video conferencing.
