Job summary

A leading health service provider in Leicester is seeking Band 6 Dietitians to join their Prescribing Dietetic Team. This role blends remote and face-to-face duties, offering flexibility in working hours. Candidates must hold a UK driving license and ideally have experience working within Primary Care Networks. Are you currently working as a Band 6 Dietitian looking for an exciting role within Prescribing Support?

We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic, innovative, and self-motivated Dietitians to be a part of our successful team and we have a number of positions available.

We are looking for Band 6 Dietitians to join our Prescribing Dietetic Team. There may be opportunities to rotate into other specialisms depending on capacity/funding.

Due to the success of the current Dietetic Prescribing Support team providing an enhanced service across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, additional funding has been secured on a permanent basis to expand this team even further.

You will join the existing Prescribing Support team which already has strong links with the Medicines Optimisation Teams working towards embedding the dietetic service within the Primary Care Networks.

The role currently involves a combination of remote and face to face duties enabling some flexibility with service delivery and we welcome applicants considering both full time and part time hours (minimum 22.5 hours).

Due to the nature of the work a car driver is essential. Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car during working hours. Base: to be agreed, depending on geographical area covered.

Main duties of the job

Leicestershire Nutrition and Dietetic Service (Community) has a team of approximately 80 staff working in primary care, mental health, public health and home enteral nutrition and is made up of dietitians, community nutritionists, dietetic support workers and support team staff covering the population of LLR.

You will be a part of our Dietetic Prescribing team and will also work closely with the Integrated Care Board of Leicester Leicestershire and Rutland (ICB LLR) Medicines Optimisation Team, GPs and practice staff across Primary Care Networks to ensure oral nutritional supplements (ONS) are used effectively and The Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Area Prescribing Committee (LLR APC) ONS guidelines are followed.

You will work closely with GP surgeries in one or more Primary Care Networks and with care homes across the locality with responsibility for the clinical input, training, service evaluations and developments in delegated care homes.

You will work very closely with our Dietetic Support workers including line management, supervision etc.
