Job summary

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our integrated HSEP therapy team working with older patients and those with frailty or dementia.

You will provide specialist assessment and treatment in a fast-paced in-patient setting, lead on Quality Improvement projects, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support safe discharges and high-quality care. A 7-day roster applies, with bank holiday cover.

Qualifications

• Registered physiotherapist with NHS or equivalent registration.
• Experience with geriatric frailty and inpatient care.
• Evidence of multidisciplinary collaboration and communication.

• Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment for older patients.
• Lead on quality improvement projects within the therapy team.

Job description

We are looking to recruit a dynamic Band 6 Physiotherapist to become part of our integrated Medical HSEP (Health Services for Elderly People) therapy team.

As a team of therapy support workers, occupational therapists, dieticians, speech and language therapists and physiotherapists, we are dedicated to providing and improving our excellent quality of care for older patients and those living with frailty and dementia.

The successful candidate should be an enthusiastic and passionate therapist, who is keen to develop their specialist clinical knowledge and management skills. They should be forward thinking with excellent organisational and clinical skills within the fast-paced in-patient setting, to facilitate safe discharges and provide excellent quality of care. There are many opportunities to lead on and participate in Quality Improvement Projects and assist in setting new directions for our service. Good communication skills and the motivation to encourage and facilitate best practice is required. You will be joining a well-established and supportive integrated Therapy team and work closely with, and be supported by, the Clinical Lead and an Advanced Frailty Practitioner.

It is a requirement for this post to participate in the 7-day working roster and bank holiday cover.

The Therapy Department holds a high profile within the Trust and is committed to staff and service development. We offer a large range of in-service and external training to suit individual’s learning objectives and the needs of the service.

Specialist support and supervision will be provided to increase your skills in managing patients living with frailty for example, advanced communication skills including What Matters to You and Advanced Care Planning, Delirium recognition and management and nutrition.
