Job summary

The Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Band 6/7 Physiotherapist to lead the Neurology team on the Neuro ward, which covers acute and rehabilitation stroke care, general neurology inpatient services, and the neuro-oncology clinic. You will work with colleagues to deliver high-quality neurological care and oversee a small outpatient caseload.

You will contribute to seven-day service delivery, drive staff development, and lead service improvement while supporting patients

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapist, to lead our friendly and supportive Neurology team. You will be an organised individual with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to leadership. You will work alongside an experienced part-time Team Lead/Clinical Specialist to deliver high-quality neurological rehabilitation services.

Based on our Neuro ward, which encompasses an acute and rehabilitation stroke unit alongside general neurology inpatient services, you will play a key role in the delivery and development of specialist neurological care. You will also be responsible for the neuro-oncology clinic and will have the opportunity to manage a small outpatient caseload of neurology and/or neuro-oncology patients.

Working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the delivery of our seven-day service while supporting staff development, service improvement and excellent patient outcomes.

This post would suit an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist with established stroke and neurology competencies who is ready to progress into a leadership role, or an existing Band 7 looking for a new challenge.

We are committed to supporting continuing professional development and will work with you to further develop your leadership, clinical and service development skills., To provide physiotherapy to relevant patients within neurology and neuro-oncology, including inpatients, outpatients and potentially the community., Responsible for the Physiotherapeutic clinical care of all patients within Neuro and Neuro-Oncology. Responsible for the management of the team. Responsible for service delivery and development in relevant areas. To provide specialist treatment and assessment of patients admitted to relevant areas. Primarily a clinical position but time is allocated for managerial responsibilities. Work flexibly to provide 7 day a week cover.
