Location: Essex

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08.30am – 17:00pm

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Band 6 Pharmacy Technician to join the Technical Services team at this NHS Trust, providing essential support to the safe and efficient delivery of outsourced chemotherapy.

In this role, you will work within the technical services department to ensure the timely and accurate dispensing, checking, and coordination of chemotherapy doses prepared by external providers. You’ll play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and governance within the cancer services at this Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the dispensing and supply of outsourced chemotherapy
  • Coordinate with external providers to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of chemotherapy doses
  • Perform dispensing and accuracy checks in line with departmental SOPs and quality standards
  • Maintain clear and accurate records and audit trails for all outsourced products
  • Liaise with pharmacists, nurses and external partners to resolve supply or prescription issues efficiently.
  • Contribute to quality assurance, stock management, and compliance monitoring within the technical services unit
  • Support and train junior staff or assistants where required
Essential Requirements
  • GPhC Registered
  • Proven experience within technical services, ideally including chemotherapy or high-cost medicines
  • Is confident working independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrates strong organisational skills and attention to detail
