  • Lead MSK outpatient groups.
  • Co-supervise band 5 physiotherapists and students.
  • Develop and audit within the service.
  • Provide a high standard of physiotherapy service.
  • Advise on musculoskeletal physiotherapy assessment and treatment.
  • Act as a source of expertise on musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Ensure safe use of physiotherapy equipment.
  • Supervise junior physiotherapists and students.
  • Organise groups and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Teach and supervise student physiotherapists.
  • Aid community and schools team as necessary.
Job description
Responsibilities
  • To support the Royal Free based paediatric physiotherapy team leads in the delivery of high-quality patient focused care primarily MSK outpatients and paediatric inpatients.
  • To deputise as required for band 7 paediatric physiotherapist.
  • To lead MSK outpatient groups.
  • To co-supervise band 5 paediatric physiotherapists and students.
  • To be involved in development and audit within the service.
  • Provide a high standard of physiotherapy service to musculoskeletal in and out-patient paediatric patients at the Royal Free Hospital Hampstead.
  • Provide specialist advice regarding the musculoskeletal physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients referred to the service.
  • Act as a source of expertise on the management of musculoskeletal conditions and to provide an advisory service to patients, other physiotherapists, other healthcare professionals and the primary healthcare team including GPs.
  • Be responsible for the safe and correct use of physiotherapy equipment within the department.
  • Ensure staff are competent to use physiotherapy equipment within the department.
  • Supervise more junior and student physiotherapists as needed.
  • To maintain associated records as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Responsible for organising groups.
  • Teaching and clinical supervision of student physiotherapists.
  • Contribute to in service training for the wider paediatric team.
  • To support the community and schools team and complex needs service as and when needed.
