Job summary

East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the NN2 Community Nursing & Therapy team as a Community Inpatient OT at North Walsham, Norfolk.

Based at North Walsham Hospital Inpatient Unit, you will work in a small, multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive assessments, support early discharge, and deliver integrated care to service users, with supervision and development opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist in a community or inpatient setting.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to work in a community-based service and support early discharge from hospital.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking comprehensive occupational therapy assessments of community inpatients.
• Collaborating with physiotherapists, OT colleagues and nursing staff to facilitate discharge.

Job description

The post is based at North Walsham Memorial Hospital. You will work as a member of the therapy team where you will work alongside registered Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Practitioners and Therapy Healthcare assistants. The main duties include:

• Undertaking comprehensive occupational therapy assessments of community inpatients.
• Demonstrating sound clinical reasoning skills and having good communication skills. Applicants should also have a positive, enthusiastic approach to working in a community setting.
• Working within the integrated team to facilitate early discharge from hospital.
• Working with all health care professionals, and statutory and non-statutory agencies to provide a seamless integrated service to our service users
• Providing advice, support and supervision to collegues and students.

We are looking for a experienced and self-motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our established and friendly integrated NN2 Community Nursing & Therapy team as a Community Inpatient Occupational Therapist based in North Walsham, Norfolk.

Based at North Walsham Hospital Inpatient Unit you will work with a small team comprising of friendly and approachable physiotherapists, occupational therapists, therapy assistant practitioners as well as registered nurses and healthcare assistants. The 24 bed inpatient rehabilitation unit provides admission avoidance and supported discharge using an integrated approach to care and rehabilitation through close multidisciplinary working. You will receive support and development through in service training, regular appraisals, a personal development plan and clinical supervision. North Norfolk offers beautiful countryside, beaches and many towns and buildings of historic interest, as well as being within close proximity to the city of Norwich which offers many cultural and leisure amenities.
