Job summary

Pulse Healthcare Limited is currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Audiologist to join NHS newborn screening services in Doncaster. This 3-6 month assignment supports the NHSP, focusing on delivery, coordination and quality assurance of the screening program.

You will oversee day-to-day operational performance, supervise screening staff, monitor outcomes and ensure compliance with national standards while delivering high-quality patient care. 3 days per week, hourly rate £25-£26.

Qualifications

• Newborn Hearing Screening experience is essential.
• Strong understanding of the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme (NHSP).
• Experience coordinating or managing screening services is desirable.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage operational priorities.
• Experience working within NHS services is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day delivery and operational management of the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme.
• Supervise and support screening staff to ensure the provision of a safe, effective, and high-quality service.
• Monitor screening outcomes, quality standards, and key performance indicators.
• Ensure compliance with national screening standards and local policies.
• Manage patient pathways and coordinate timely follow-up for babies requiring further assessment.
• Liaise with Audiology teams, maternity services, paediatric departments, and other key stakeholders.
• Contribute to service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and reporting requirements.
• Support the ongoing development and performance of the screening service.
