This role involves overseeing clinical services, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring high standards of care. Supporting the management and delivery of clinical services within the outpatient department clinic in Chelsea and Westminster hospital. This will include complaints, HR management, and resolution of incident forms and local governance issues. Providing professional management to all Non-Medical members of staff and work in conjunction with all members of the multidisciplinary team. To work in partnership with lead consultants, matron, senior sister, deputy assistant service manager, deputy general manager and general manager to manage provision and modify clinic resources. Ensuring that at all time there is appropriate clinical cover for the department and adjusting and escalating where required in order to ensure that clinical standards are maintained at all times.
Contribute to evidence based practice and support research projects for the clinical members of the terms and conditions.
In conjunction with medical team and clinical nurse specialists participate to form local guidelines as required by the standards of the hospital.
Ensure that patient documentation is maintained to a high standard and support the clinical team in the transition to electronic notes.
To ensure that all clinical equipment that is required for the department is ordered and maintained so clinical standards can be maintained.
Provide advice and guidance to junior members of staff and the wider trust.
Act as an advocate for the patient and relatives as required and support them through the decision making process.
Collaborate with trust wide departments to escalated and prioritise patient care where needed and ensure that appropriate care is given to the patient when an inpatient stay is deemed necessary.
Where appropriate to assist and cover clinical lists or endeavour to find a clinician who does have the expertise to cover.
Have a commitment to the development of initiatives and wide trust policies.
Ensure that nursing practice is of the highest standard in line with trust and CQC standards.
Use effective communication and interpersonal skills to provide information, explanation, and reassurance to patients and families, and build an environment of trust and rapport, enabling patient empowerment.
